Real wedding blog post time. This wedding of Amy & Chris’ was photographed by Paul Tschornow at Old Down Manor just outside Bristol.
Old Down Manor is a great wedding venue, it’s big got loads of light and the staff are brilliant but one of the great things about this wedding (aside from Amy and Chris being such a fantastic couple), is that the wedding started with a church ceremony. This isn’t me getting all religious on you, I don’t think that half of civil ceremonies are interrupted by god throwing down a bolt of lightning during the first dance. This is me saying that when you have a church wedding there’s more going on.
That’s right, think about it. With a church wedding you’ve got an extra venue where stuff happens. And what’s good about stuff happening is that it looks great in the wedding photographs. Stuff happening also gives your guests more time to get into the wedding vibe so that by the time the evening music starts playing your guests will be throwing shapes – you don’t need to worry about an empty dance floor or a flat atmosphere.
So the message here is, if you want to get value for money from your photographer then have a church wedding so that he has more to shoot. The only problem for you is deciding which of the amazing images you want to include in your wedding album.
